GSE Systems to Present, Exhibit Severe Accident Simulation Solution at Nuclear Simulation Conference in Barcelona
SYKESVILLE, Md. – September 25, 2013 – Global energy services solutions provider GSE Systems, Inc. (NYSE MKT: GVP) will be sharing engineering and training insights and exhibiting its advanced simulation solution at the 2013 European Nuclear Power Plant Simulation Forum. The event takes place October 8 and 9 at the Fira Palace in Barcelona, Spain.
GSE’s Antanas Romas, Thermal Hydraulics Modeling Expert, will kick off day two of the forum at 9 a.m. with a presentation titled “MCS2SIM – Method Allowing Application of PSA-Results in Simulators” which demonstrates utilizing traditional nuclear plant operator training simulators for safety analysis. Mr. Romas will address:
- Introduction to the basic idea of the MCS2SIM-method using GSE’s PSA-HD™ severe accident simulation platform that integrates EPRI’s Modular Accident Analysis Program (MAAP)*
- Application of Fault Tree and Event Tree analysis in two Swedish training simulators
- Prerequisites needed to apply the MCS2SIM method
Immediately following Mr. Romas’ presentation, Shigeo Kodama of Nuclear Engineering, Ltd. will give the case study “Practical Example of Using Full-Scope Simulator in a University’s Class.” During this study, the audience will learn about the successful installation and use of a GSE full-scope, multi-physics simulator at Nagoya University for the purpose of nuclear reactor education.
